Get to Know the Owner – Kavanna Cottrell

For as long as she can remember, Kavanna Cottrell has been in love with the magic of weddings. As a little girl, she would tag along to events, helping wherever she could — from fluffing dresses and arranging flowers to watching in awe as couples exchanged their vows. Those early moments weren’t just memories; they were the seeds of a lifelong passion. Weddings weren’t just “events” to her — they were stories of love, joy, and the beauty of bringing people together.

Kavanna followed that passion to Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Event Planning and Coordination. While in school, she continued working in the wedding industry, gaining hands-on experience with everything from intimate backyard gatherings to grand, elegant affairs. Over the years, she’s worked on more than 300 weddings, personally coordinating over 200 of them, and has already booked more than 100 weddings for her own company — each one unique and close to her heart.

In June 2025, she took a leap of faith and founded Serene Bliss Events & Coordination in the heart of Virginia, later expanding to serve Winston-Salem, NC. For Kavanna, every wedding is deeply personal — she approaches each one as if she were planning it for her own family. She’s known for her warm, calming presence, her ability to turn a couple’s vision into reality, and her commitment to making the planning process just as joyful as the big day itself.

When she’s not creating dream weddings, you’ll find Kavanna exploring charming venues, sipping coffee while sketching design ideas, or spending time with loved ones. Her greatest joy comes from seeing the look on a couple’s face when they realize their wedding day is everything they dreamed of — and more.
